Applied Computer Science

"Applied Computer Science" is a program that primarily provides practical knowledge essential for the IT industry, covering topics such as algorithms, programming languages based on various paradigms, computer networks, databases, graph theory, machine learning, and computational intelligence methods. Studies at the Faculty of Physics and Applied Computer Science (WFiIS) also equip students with engineering knowledge and skills necessary for projects at the intersection of computer science and engineering.

To cater to the diverse interests of our students, we have prepared four educational tracks: Game Technology, Web Technologies and Cloud Computing, Numerical Methods, and Embedded and Reconfigurable Systems. With a wide range of elective courses available outside of these tracks, students can tailor their study program to fit their individual needs.

Thanks to the knowledge and skills acquired, graduates can work as software developers in IT companies, system or network administrators, and database developers and/or managers in institutions that process large amounts of data, for example, using machine learning methods.
